Terms of Service

Effective 2026-08-02 · Version 2026-08-02

LOONIELODGE gives you accurate Canadian mortgage math and tools to understand your own numbers. It is not licensed financial, mortgage, tax, or legal advice, and you are responsible for the decisions you make. By creating an account you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are and what this covers

LOONIELODGE (the "Service") is operated by LoonieLodge Inc. ("we", "us"). These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service. Our Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference.

By creating an account, checking the consent box at sign-up, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be a resident of Canada and at least the age of majority in your province or territory (18 or 19) to create an account. By registering you confirm that you meet these requirements. The Service is intended for personal use by mortgage holders and is not designed for cross-border or multi-currency mortgages.

3. The Service is information, not advice

LOONIELODGE is an informational and educational tool. It performs calculations on figures you provide and explains general concepts about Canadian mortgages. It does not provide, and must not be relied on as, licensed financial, mortgage, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional.

We are not a bank, lender, mortgage broker or brokerage, financial planner, or licensed advisor, and using the Service creates no such relationship. The AI advisor and community forum are likewise informational only. Figures shown are estimates that depend on the accuracy of the data you enter; always confirm the numbers with your lender or a licensed professional before acting on them. Any decision you make is yours alone.

4. Your account and security

You are responsible for the information you enter, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for all activity under your account. We offer two-factor authentication and recommend enabling it. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You must not share your account, impersonate others, or misuse another person's data.

If your account or a mortgage was set up for you by a partner — a broker, advisor, or other organization using the Service on your behalf — that partner can see and work on the mortgages they manage for you, and you may ask to be released from their management at any time from your settings. Our Privacy Policy explains what they can see.

5. Subscriptions, trials, billing, and cancellation

Creating an account is free, and every account starts on a free trial with full access to a limited number of mortgages. The trial length and how many mortgages it covers are shown to you in the app. Nothing is charged when a trial ends — the account simply becomes read-only until you subscribe, and your data is kept.

A subscription is per account, not per mortgage, and covers every mortgage you track up to the limit shown to you before you subscribe. You choose monthly or annual billing. The price is in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes, and is disclosed to you — with the billing period, what the subscription covers, and the refund rule below — before you are charged. Prices may change, but a change never re-prices a subscription you have already bought.

Unless you cancel, the subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period and your payment method is charged the disclosed amount. You authorize these recurring charges. You may switch between monthly and annual at any time: moving to annual takes effect immediately, with credit for the unused part of the month, and moving to monthly takes effect at the end of the year you have already paid for.

You may cancel at any time from Settings › Billing. If you cancel within 5 days of your first payment, that payment is refunded in full and access ends immediately. After that 5-day window, and on every renewal, fees already paid are non-refundable: cancellation stops future renewals and your account stays usable until the end of the period you have paid for, then becomes read-only — your data is preserved, and subscribing again later restores full access. This does not affect any non-waivable rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.

6. Acceptable use and community

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: breaking the law; infringing others' rights; uploading malware; attempting to access data that is not yours; scraping, overloading, or reverse-engineering the Service; or using it to provide regulated financial advice to third parties.

The community forum is a moderated space. You are responsible for what you post; do not post unlawful, misleading, harassing, or confidential third-party information, or anything presented as licensed financial advice. We may moderate, remove content, or suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the data you enter. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for having the right to provide it, including any information about co-borrowers or other individuals.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (for hosting, database, payments, email, and AI features) described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for third-party services, your lender, or any external site we link to.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, engine, design, and content (other than your data), is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that calculations, estimates, or explanations are error-free or suitable for your situation, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or financial loss arising from a mortgage or financial decision, even if advised of the possibility. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims and costs arising out of your misuse of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time from your security settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; data handling on closure is described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you and, where appropriate, ask you to accept the updated version. Continued use after an update means you accept it.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the courts located there, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your home province.
